The Daily Mail reports that “slaughter-free, lab-grown sausages” could be available to Brits after scientists developed a new way of growing meat.
More specifically, technology developed by scientists at the University of Oxford utilizes pig cells to make pork. The pig cells are placed in special 98.6F water tanks and then fed nutrients for two weeks. Eventually two cubic centimetres of fat and muscle cells are turned into 2.2 pounds of “meat” products.
